Who are the Fisheadz?

Who are we?

Fisheadz is four brothers who fish: Jakob, Gabriel, Oscar and Caspar, in order.
We grew up in Paris, at first glance, not the place that comes to mind when you think of fishing, but the canals and rivers of Paris shaped who we are today, heavily influenced by the US and Japanese bass fishing scene. As kids, we followed our older "brothers" from the French touch fishing crew, who mentored us and sharpened our skills and our love for fishing. They're the ones who first initiated us into the fishing world in their own offices right around the corner of where we lived where we'd spend hours flipping through bass fishing magazines and watching US tournaments and Japanese bass fishing videos with reggae playing on the sound system, soaking up a culture from the other side of the world long before we could really live it ourselves. First in an urban setting, and later exploring whatever venue we could fish in, in every region of the world we could set foot in, this became a journey we've decided to share with all the amazing people we've met along the banks, people who've chosen to follow us on our social media platforms as well as in real life.
We created Fisheadz to curate our vision of fishing and to share our experiences on and off the water, related to fishing, music and lifestyle. Not a day passes without something fish-related crossing our minds, hence the name, an idea born in our room one random evening as we discussed how to share our experiences and build a fishing community.

What type of fishing do we prefer?

We're avid shore fishermen, but in general we tend to explore whatever's needed to catch fish at the end of the day, from lure, fly fishing to a simple string with a single hook on if needed.
Street fishing in different cities around the globe will always remain one of our preferred settings, given our upbringing. But fishing can happen almost anywhere, as long as there's water and fish to be found, and we seek to explore as much of that as we can, now and in the future. We practice mostly catch and release, but we also appreciate a good self-caught fish, preferably prepared ikejime and cooked.

Our vision

We want to give back what we once received from our fishing mentors: a sense of freedom through fishing, and through sharing knowledge. We don't define ourselves by our performance on the water, instead, we aim to set an example by reaching as many minds and hearts as we can, spreading this beautiful passion as widely as possible. We see ourselves as a bridge between people, countries, and continents, showcasing how inclusive and uplifting fishing can be. Our vision as Fisheadz may change as we grow with our community, but it will always be centred on sharing the joy that a rod and reel can bring on the water.
As anglers, we're also aware that our passion comes with a responsibility. Fishing puts us in direct contact with water and the life it holds, and we don't take that lightly. We're conscious of the consumerism that can creep into gear-driven hobbies like ours, and we try to hold ourselves to a standard of sustainability, in how we fish, what we consume, and what we choose to put out into the world through Fisheadz. We won't pretend to have it all figured out, but we see it as our duty to keep learning and improving on this front, for the waters we fish today and the ones we hope to still be fishing in years from now.

What's up with the products?

The products we sell help us reach the audience that shares our vision and let us connect with the people in our growing community. Every product is carefully thought through and designed by the four of us, to match our ethics and vision, for everyone who supports us by buying them.
